Gregg Perr

Gregg Perr is an experienced trial attorney with more than 25 years prosecutorial experience at both the county and municipal level. Gregg currently serves as the Municipal Prosecutor in Riverside Township. He previously was the Municipal Prosecutor in Delran Township, Edgewater Park Township, the Borough of Palmyra, and the Joint Municipal Court for the Townships of Westampton, Eastampton, and Hainesport. He previously was the primary attorney assigned by Malamut & Associates, LLC to handle the firm’s duties of Municipal Prosecutor in Edgewater Park, Millville, Palmyra, and Westampton/Eastampton/Hainesport, New Jersey. Prior to serving as a Municipal Prosecutor, Gregg served as an Assistant Prosecutor at the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office for 19 ½ years and retired with the title of Deputy Section Chief having served as the Deputy Chief of the Narcotics Unit, Juvenile Unit, and Domestic Violence Unit. As an Assistant Prosecutor, Gregg handled thousands of criminal cases including homicides, aggravated assaults, firearms, sexual assaults, burglaries, domestic violence, child abuse, and narcotics cases. As part of his duties, he regularly handled the involuntary commitment of defendants who were deemed a danger to themselves or others in KROL hearings. Gregg also supervised and prosecuted long term multi-wiretap investigations, reviewed hundreds of Search Warrants and Communications Data Warrants, and served as a Legal Advisor to County Detectives, Municipal Police Departments, the High intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, and the Intelligence Services Team of Camden County.
Gregg set New Jersey Supreme Court precedent by supervising the investigation and conducting the prosecution in S͟t͟a͟t͟e͟ ͟v͟.͟ ͟F͟e͟l͟i͟c͟i͟a͟n͟o͟, 224 N.J. 351, (2016), a unanimous opinion about the constitutionality and proper implementation of roving wiretaps in New Jersey. Gregg was a Police Training Commission Certified Instructor and regularly taught police recruits as well as experienced police officers at the Camden County Police Academy in the areas of Search and Seizure and Narcotics.
In addition to his duties as an Assistant Prosecutor, Gregg served for 8 ½ years as the President of the Camden County Assistant Prosecutors Association where he managed the day to day operations of the local labor association, directed contract negotiations, grievance and disciplinary investigations, management labor directives, and administrative proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC). He served a total of 16 ½ years as a member of the Executive Committee of the Association. In this role, Gregg served on the Contract Negotiations Team. He assisted members in understanding employee benefits, grievance and disciplinary policies, insurance and compensation issues, as well as the general implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Gregg served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas A. Brown, Jr., (ret.), in the New Jersey Superior Court.
He was admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in December 1996.
Gregg received his Juris Doctor Degree from Rutgers-Camden School of Law in 1996.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice and Political Science from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in 1993.
Gregg and his family reside in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He enjoys volunteering his time coaching youth baseball and was on the Board of Directors of Cherry Hill American Little League.
